Università di Trento

I achieved my PhD title in Humanities Studies at the Department of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Trento in February 2016. From September 2014 until May 2015, I conducted my doctoral researches at the Philosophical-Historical Faculty of Basel (Switzerland), as I was granted a Swiss Government Excellent Doctoral Scholarship. My PhD Dissertation was published in 2019 with the title “Medici italiani eretici nella seconda metà del Cinquecento” (New Digital Frontiers, 2019). In November 2016, I was given a biennal post-doctoral scholarship at the Department of Letters and Philosophy of Trento, and I carried out a project in the field of History of Medicine in collaboration with the Professional Association of Physicians of Trento and the Fondazione Museo Storico di Trentino. In this context I co-organized with prof. Giovanni Ciappelli (University of Trento) an international conference on Medicine and Health care in the 16th-17th century (Trento, 14.-15. November 2018), and I co-edited with him the proceedings which are in print and will be published by the end of 2019. My main research interests are: Early modern history; History of Medicine; Cultural relationships between Italian and German-speaking territories in Early modern age; History of Culture; Press and Book Circulation; History of the Protestant Reformation in Italy. I published diverse scientific articles on different aspects of my work, some of which on primary historical journals. A volume with the title “Medici-physici trentini nella seconda metà del Cinquecento” will be published by the end of 2019. In the academic years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, I gave practical lessons for the class “Methodology of Historical Research” at the University of Trento. Previously, in the period November-December 2016, I had participated in a project of didactic innovation for the same class.
