Pascal Oswald is a doctoral candidate at Saarland University, in cotutelle with Padova University. The working title of his dissertation project is “Narrow ‘Grey Zones’: a History of Non-Militant Italian Civilians’ Experiences under German Occupation (1943-45)”. He graduated in 2021 at Saarland University with a thesis about the late work of Renzo De Felice concerning the period from 1943 to 1945. Among his publications, which cover the history of Italy in late antiquity, Risorgimento and 20th century, is the volume “Giuseppe Garibaldi und die ‘Römische Frage’. Vom Volturno nach Mentana (1860-1870)” (Trier, 2023).
